This movie is just not fun to watch. I had such high hopes too because the preview for it looked great (with the Ice Bears battling each other, etc). But really, the movie is just not that exciting, and it's a dark movie as well. Other recent fantasy movies (Narnia, Lord of the Rings, etc) are so much better than this.

This is a new age Quantum Physic's theory made into a movie. Parellel Universe planes or mirrors, instead it is 'dust' in the film. It is not anti-God - know new age and you would know that. Very sad script and directing. Unless you listen very carefully to the beginning monologue (duplicate Star Wars (SW) and LOTR), you miss the point of the film. As a duplicate LOTR, SW, and Harry Potter, it was inferior by far. Some of the 3D filming was good. Since it is intended to be a 2-part film, they could have done better in filling in the huge holes in this first one. Some parts were straight out of Harry Potter, only done badly. Kidman and Dakota OK, just bad scripts to work with. See it once so you've seen it, after that - nada.

The visual quality of the movie was wonderful, but the dialogue was lame and the story was derivative: Narnia meets Star Wars meets Harry Potter. It is worth seeing, though, for the sake of the visuals, and especially the animal companions who represent the souls of each person -- charming.

I thought that this was a really good movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than the Lion Witch & the Wardrobe. Great effects and a fast moving story. I can not wait for the second movie to be released. I didn't detect any strong anti religous message in this, as others have said. I am however not really a religous person. I just thought that this was a well written story and made a good family movie.

I liked this movie and look forward to the sequel. I think it's gotten a lot of flack from Christian right wingers who feel that their view should be the deciding factor of what we watch. To me that's silly and idiotic. The characters in this movie are wonderful, the actors are top notch and the story is fast paced and easy to follow even for children. This is a movie that will open up your imagination and make you ask questions and for that reason I think some Christians find it threatening. Don't let this dissuade you from watching, I watched it and I can say it didn't change my faith at all.

I thought the graphics were great. I guess I'm not into fantasy as I didn't understand the story line. Reading the other reviews indicate many people are and they enjoyed the movie. To each his own.

This book was written by someone who is a proud atheist who didn't like CS Lewis's "the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" so they decided to write a book about how in the end they kill God and live happily ever after! This is Satan's message too, so if you're into that, would strongly recommend this. But if you accept God who says to have nothing to do with them, I very strongly suggest you do not endorse this movie with your time or you money. This is the first part of the trilogy, the author and others do not want you to know the real story this so your children will get their message.

It is all about killing god. The author is atheist and he is proud of it. He despiesis C.S Lewis and is jealous of Narnia. He wants kids to trun against Christianity and to "kill god". I can't believe that people will see this and turn against god. Hollywood has now made a movie and people will see it and Christianity will be looked down upon. I take my religion very seriously and now thanks to the author of this evil trilogy he has teamed up with Hollywood to turn against god. I hope this movie makes no money and nobody sees it. I only saw it because my girlfriend wanted to see it and boy did she look stupid walking out of the theatre. This movie was so boring that my girl actually fell asleep. It was a cliffhanger that i will definilty not be continuing. Also, Christopher Lee gets NO screen time. He is only on for about 5 minutes at most and then we never see him again. I dispies this movie as much of the author dispieses C.S Lewis. Narnia was better!
