Almost a "too much info" moment but I imagine that was the goal of the film and the essence of the good doctors research. Made me laugh out-loud which every good movie should do at least once. A precautionary note: Watch with ONLY people you are most comfortable with. Definitely not appropriate for teens or younger. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

0 out of 0 people found this review helpful A well done movie about a research scientist supported by his University. Very revealing, expressing the struggle people may have understanding their own sexual urges. Of less concern in this biological study is the impact of phychological consequences on society.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I thought it was interesting to learn about how people from that time viewed sex and hwo much (or little) they knew about things, but this guys complete scientific obsession with everything sexual did become rather repulsive. It also seemed that he only was interested in the mechanics of sex and completely missed the magic of chemistry that makes sex great. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Being a lifelong scientific empiricist, Kinsey used statistical methods of acquiring as many subjects as possible to get as broad a data pool as possible. Whether that led to more accurate results in his study remained to be seen in this film -- though in reality, the tests of time tended to make his studies more plausible and thus meritorious. But, how can we talk about sex without delving into the cosmic vortex known as "love". Sure, we could talk about the technical and physiological aspects of intercourse, masturbation, STDs, etc. What about emotions, relationships, or simply sex itself taken in the context of varying social environments and norms? Kinsey was a fascinating innovator as a psychologist, but that still leaves much to desire from a morality standpoint. This film is complex, leaving me, the critical thinker, at an impasse. to briam m., seems like you are commenting on Kinsey himself rather than the movie. looks like the movie told you a story you didn't know/like, but that is not the fault of the actors, directors, writers, etc. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Ask these filmmakers. Cast well and super production values, but this almost put me to sleep. An unusual time in our history when all kinds of revelations about human mind and spirit were being studied and this makes it look like so much blather. Blah, blah, blah. A real Yawner. Don't waste your time. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The movie is filled with inaccuracies and paints his opponents as uptight prigs and uses the most extreme examples to do so. Plus, this really isn't a well made movie. I urge anyone who watches this to research the real Alfred Kinsey and make up your own mind as to whether we are all better off because of his efforts. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? I had hoped for much more from this cast. There was way too much time spend on his time collecting some millions bugs and how proud he was of this achievement. The acting seemed pushed to the point of unbelievable. How many times have you intveiwed your parents about there sex lives? We all know that the book is probably true, but its not particularly entertaining to watch. At just less than two hours, it feels as if you just spent under two weeks watching it. I did not find one single character believable. The movie tried to do what the book did, Be sensational, the movie was anything but that. The most interesting and most believable part of the movie were John Lithgow's explanation of how he was bound and tied as a child so that he wont masturbate. Give me a break. This producers did any stupid thing they could think of to sell you a ticket. Perhaps on TV it wont seem as boorish and intellectualized as it was in the movies.
