Suspend all of your disbelief regarding how immigration officials would deal with "a man without a country," how quickly a Bulgarian-speaking person can learn English, how Catherine Zeta-Jones would be interested in Hanks' character and he in hers, how quickly a proposal would be accepted by a young woman who'd never met her suitor, and several other ludicrous plot developments, and you will still have a pretty good time.

After watching this movie, I called my Mom and Dad and said you Have to see this movie. They rarely like a movie that I like, however they took my advice and watched it. As with me, they loved this movie. Anyone who has spent time in an airport, have gone through customs, filled out the long stupid forms, or are captivated by other cultures, will fall in love with this movie fast. Once again, Tom Hanks plays his part flawlessly.

The movie was well written and Tom Hanks captured his character very well.

It was nice to watch something different. I usaully like movies that star Tom Hanks, so this was a no brainer. Happy endings are always a good way to end a movie.

I almost turned this off fifteen minutes into it because it started out so incredibly slow and awkward. I'm glad I didn't though, because it actually turned into an above average movie with a pretty gripping, though far fetched, story. I didn't so much find myself rooting for any of the characters in this movie, but I did want to stick around to the end to see what happened. I disagree with a lot of the other reviews because I thought the ending was amazing and completely worthwhile. It's a good movie for a rainy day, not something I'm going to go out and buy to add to my collection though.

I usually enjoy Tom Hanks and anything done by Spielberg, but this just completely bored me. It was a total waste of time and a waste of talent. Zeta-Jones was beautiful and her accent was believable, but that's the only good thing I can say about her in this movie. The rest of the actors' accents, Hanks included, were laughable.
