Read More best batman ever.this movie capture the essence of what batman is.from start to finish its awesome.liam neeson played a great villian,alfred was great plus morgan freeman was like having two alfred you cant beat that.finally batman himself was beyond what i ever could of expected.i thought the movies would kill batman eventually but this one resurrected the franchise for me. Only buy about 1 DVD per year, found this one worthy. Finally a movie starring the "Dark Knight," a vaguely possible real person who plausibly becomes a vigilante. His abilities required no more suspension of disbelief than the Bourne movies, and the story wasn't obscured by ridiculous action and special effects (although I thought the fight scenes were coherent and exciting). Liked that Batman didn't kill people in droves, like he does in the previous (entirely forgettable) movies. He is tough, brutal, and uncompromising, but lives by a strict moral code with well-delineated boundries. This movie finally captured the Batman from the Detective comics & its progeny. The story, acting, direction and editing were strong. Clearly the best, most accurate Batman yet. Only good Batman movie. Hope they don't blow the sequal. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read More This is absolutely the BEST Batman movie ever made as well as the BEST superhero movie I've ever seen. It has an excellent story line and more realism than any other superhero movie. The acting is perfect and the director selected the right characters for each role (although I wasn't crazy about Katie Holmes, even her performance wasn't bad). If they keep making Batman movies of this style and quality (as opposed to the last campy few), then movie fans and Batman fans alike will be awaiting new ones eagerly.
Christian Bale plays Bruce Wayne/Batman just as well as Michael Keaton ever could. Morgan Freeman plays a character like James bond's Q who creates all of his wonderful toys. Michael Cane is perfect as Alfred. I never thought The Scarecrow would ever be in a Batman movie but this was done brilliantly.
