Very memorable and highly recommended. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More Natasha Richardson and Ian McKellen represent merely a fraction of the great cast members in this film which is in part about the mental decline brought about by domestic life. Whether it is pure boredom or marital detachment (or a combination of the two) is unclear, but also irrelevant, because the effect functions well on the film's emotional landscape. Simple but engaging cinematography and an appropriately enigmatic score provide ample backdrop for the twists and turns of the story, though by the film's end, the viewer might find themselves as despairing as the primary characters.
