But the whole mess is worth watching Malfoy get turned in to a ferret!!
It is really a decent movie...if you ignore the logic errors, and haven't read the book. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is the first movie I viewed before having read the book. Since this time I did not know what to expect I enjoyed the movie experience much more than I had with the other movies. The story did seem to have some holes that I am assuming the book will clear up, but it is now evident to me that the movies could stand alone without the books. They are simply good films with a great story. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Rowling, who in one fell swoop got the world reading and wrote a series of effortlessly eloquent and brilliantly understated books. That said, aside from the first two soulless adaptations from director Chris Columbus, however competent and faithful they may have been, the *Harry Potter* movies have illustrated what's great about book-to-movie adaptations. Sporting much better scripts (which confidently separate the pith of the story from the delightfully tangential) and a young cast increasingly more comfortable with their characters and their craft, Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell have made *Prisoner of Azkaban* and *Goblet of Fire* their own--both rhapsodic and relatable, more gritty and more real, and with the re-emergence of Voldemort, much more dangerous. Newell (along with scene-stealing new-comers Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes) makes magic, mystery, and flying dragons seem at once ordinary and surreal. In short, *Goblet of Fire* is a dark delight. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

My husband and I both were falling asleep at the theatre. I don't know if I have the patience to sit through it again to catch some missed parts. Just too long and drawn out. Are those books really that detailed? If so, then they might want to start having an intermission at the theatres! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

They should have kept the director who did the 3rd movie. Special effects in these movie never have blown me over, which keeps me from getting into the movie, but the dragon sequence is the best this series has produced. General creepiness makes me wonder why they haven't pushed the envelope further in this series before? Overall a little to long, with nothing you haven't seen before. Braindead porncorn film with a few chills and thrills.
thrills.
