Read More In the second-best "Potter" so far (after, of course, the Alfonso Cuaron-helmed "Prisoner of Azkaban" which saved the series from kiddie-movie banality and set it on this much darker course), Harry navigates the ups and downs of Hogwarts but, most importantly, macks it with a wizard hottie who-- scandal alert!-- is NOT Hermione! Imelda Staunton is great as the queen bee-yotch new headmaster Dolores Umbridge, sending up every Catholic school principal you've ever had. Helena Bonham Carter even shows up to do exactly what she does in every other film she's in: wear a ton of black mascara and act like she's on crystal meth. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? It also felt that this movie was just setting up the next....not much action in it.

Yes I don't think its for the younger kids as ... Read More The movies are all BASED on the books,not a true retelling of them. I thought the acting in this was superb! The best of all the Harry Potter movies yet. Yes I don't think its for the younger kids as much as the older ones, since this one is more politically motivated.
All in all if you are a Potter fan and you don't mind that some things are cut out, you will LOVE this movie. I dont' compare them to the books since they aren't a retelling of them, but a story based on them.
Daniel Radcliffe was absolutely fantastic, and in my mind is no longer a boy but a man but playing Harry's part to a tee. I know Harry is supposed to be 15 in this, but Daniel definitely looks his age at 18. Still doesn't take away from the movie though! In fact makes me want to see more Daniel in the next movies! Just tell the story already. I can't stand the way these movies have become as formulaic as an episode of Goosebumps. Of course, with this budget and talent, the product is a lot better. Read More if you're not a die hard harry fan, skip renting this movie. not only was i lost on who everyone was or was suppossed to be, i didn't make it through the entire film cuz i was just plain bored out of my mind. there is nothing new added to this story as far as tricks or special effects to keep you hanging on so i say skip it unless you memorized every character and remember what happened in the previous movie(s).
