Read More Wow what a wonderful movie, very entertaining and very enjoyable and has some great action, it's for the whole family to watch (may not be suitable for young children). It has a very good lesson to learn. Zan played by Alexander Michaletos says this; There are things you know without knowing. For Duma it was his wildness. for Rip it was his family. For me it was my Dad. Everything he was everything he believed in...is now part of me...I was taking Duma home, but he took me somewhere too. Finding Dumas true home brought me back to mine...and showed me that love does'nt stop when time passes...or you live in different places or somebody's gone. That's how it was with me and Duma. It was amazing to me how tame the cheetah's were in this movie. It was hard to understand some of the lines, because of the accent's. It would have been great to have some behind the scenes footage of how the cheetah's were trained. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More I love feel-good movies and movies about nature and kids, but I didn't connect with this one. There were many unrealistic plot turns that could have easily been rewritten to make better sense, so the writers were just lazy. Some woodenness in the acting. Read More Another wonderful animal fable from Carrol Ballard ("The Black Stallion"), DUMA may at first seem a tad unbelievable. Hang on though; it gets better as it proceeds, while remaining visually stunning throughout--with amazing footage of cheetahs and other wildlife. "Duma" tells a story about growing and growing up, as the hero and secondary hero come to terms with the injustices of life and find some redemption in the process. Eammon Walker is particularly good, as is Alexander Michaeletos--the young fellow who plays the lead. Hope Davis and Campbell Scott add marquee value, but they're generally wasted in tertiary roles (and their South African accents veer rather terribly). In the end, itÂ’s the cheetah--and Walker--you'll remember best and most fondly. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
