The pacing was relaxed and allowed you to get inside the heads of the characters (especially Drew). You actually got to see why these people were drawn to each other rather than being forced to accept they were attracted without any "evidence". Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Fair film - no loss to rent but I would have been disappointed at the theater...however it redeemed itself the last 20 minutes - "the map" WAS wonderful & made the movie that would have been otherwise forgettable - memorable. Read More I found this movie trite and pretentious. There was little character development unless you count Orlando Bloom's vacant gazes as indicative of character motivation then you could say this movie was about an emotionally void young man with a vacant stare. Dunst is a good actress but sorely miscast and came off unbelievable as the wise, all knowing "helper". It became a paint by numbers hollywood storyline with a rehash of tired whimsical characters doing whimsical things in an unusual setting...."and SCENE! Now let's have a soundtrack meeting to determine if the scene works with Emo Indie song or Post Punk Modern Rock Alternative from 85-91". All in all, it was painful to watch. I felt like it was trying to be Garden State but failed because it was trying to be something it wasn't. The only highlights: Alec Baldwin did his usual excellent job in the first few scenes and Paula Deen was a nice surprise. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I went into this movie expecting a cheesy story with some good character development and interactions between the characters. I walked out of the movie not completely livid only because the music was good. While the story could be interesting the way it was executed was not. Kirsten Dunst's accent was horribly distracting and took away from her character and Orlando Bloom's lack of an accent did the same. There were some cute and memorable parts but overall I would say the movie is great for getting you in the mood for a nap. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I expected so much more. Don't waste your time with this movie, unless you like slow, sappy, and drawn out romance flicks. A complete waste of time. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
