Our family really enjoyed this movie. I saw all the Benji movies as a child and loved this one just as much. The dogs, especially the new Benji, just melt your heart when you look at their faces. It is quite interesting too how the director adopted both dogs and turned them into furry actors. It is a good, clean, happy-ending movie, just like the Benji movies of the past!

Again the dogs were terrific actors. The story showed the power of love to overcome negative events in our lives. The puppies love of her mother and saving her, Colby's love of Benji and letting her go so see would have a better life. Love is a very powerful force.

What's not to like: A bully of a dad who runs a puppy mill who doesn't care about his dogs or his family, the odd plot device of having 2 stray dogs running around (which is supposed to be Benji?) Two cartoon dogcatchers whose antics can be predicted 5 minutes before they occur ("The one has a dart gun. Guess he's going to shoot his partner in the butt.") Actually despite all this,the movie isn't entirely bad - even considering the slow pace.

I have never watched any of the Benji movies, but I was hopeful this would be an entertaining movie for my 3-year old. It was not. It was very slooooooowwwww and boring. I kept hoping it would get better by the end, but it did not. It left me feeling like I had just wasted 2 hours of my time.
