CS Lewis had about zero creativity, unlike his contemporary, JRR Tolkien. Rather than be creative and invest thousands of hours into creating something from whole cloth, as Tolkien did, Lewis preferred the path of least effort, deciding to integrate everything from Christianty, to Aesop's Fables, and Santa Claus into a hodgepodge abortion, not worthy of reading, or filming. Yes, throw in a talking beaver or two, and the zomby-kids will giggle and drool. Drool, zomby-kids, drool! This movie is made for parents, who want the DVD player to supervise their mongoloid children. No redeeming qualities to it. Stick with Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, which are much more intelligent, creative, lasting works... both in literature and celluloid. Nancy Reagan says, "Just say NO!" to zomby-drugs like this. Tolkien, by the way, hated CS Lewis' Narnia Chronicles, and I have to agree with the master. Lewis' work compares to the cheap, knockoff "Rolex" watches sold on the streets. It is plastic.

I cried when Aslan died in the book and I cried when he died on screen. Anyone who didn't cry must be a cold hearted person or hates lions. ;) Either way it's a good movie for the kids.

This is a great movie and worth owning. I have read the books about 10 times and think the movie was good. For all those who say it was bad as it dint follow the book to pair I do have to agree but it was a great movie. They left more of what’s in the books then Lord of the Rings did.

From a first-class beginning (the scene between the faun & little Susan as they enjoy tea is quintessentially British and delightful), THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA slips into a rather conventional fantasy battle between good and evil, of which we may by now have seen (post-Lord of the Rings) "too much already." What happens and why gets lost in a blather of make-believe, symbolism and religion—He’s dead! Wait, he’s disappeared! Whoa: Resurrection!—and after awhile, well, how much do you care? For the first 1/2 everything's aces: charmingly produced fantasy animals, stunning human/animal combos, and--yes--Tilda Swinton! The proper thing may have been to produce a six-hour mini-series, but that wouldn’t fly theatrically. So we’re stuck with a movie that’s too long (2 hrs. 20 min) for intelligent entertainment because it finally concentrates on spectacle, yet is too short for proper storytelling/decent character development because it adheres to the typical long-but-not-too-long time limit.

Great animation but patetic story. Read bible and change Jesus with lion and you get your brainwash story for kids. Nothing original - another religios movie.
