Overall it was boring and jumped all over the place. The characters were not well developed and it was hard to feel emotionally involved in the story. I ended up fast forwarding through a good portion of it just to see how it ended which was hardly worth the effort in itself. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The acting was poor and the script was worse. Hollywood has once again taken a great piece of literature and tried to "Hollywood it" When when they ever learn to just leave well enough alone? Make they movie but stay true to the book! The most ridiculous part of the whole movie was the modern "Oriental" dance - modern-style music, dance moves and Brittany Spears enspired constumes. Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

A lot of flashy costumes flew by but very little substance. The story line jumps from one place to another without continuity. This is a badly directed movie. If it's not for Reese's performance, I'd give it one start. She did a good job playing her part. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Take time to watch the bonus materials as well! The costumes and sets are breathtaking and the acting is superb! I love the mingling of the British and India cultures throughout. This is one of those movies that's good to watch when you just want to step out of the druggery of modern day and step back in time and take in the sights and sounds. This has the feel of an Forester novel like "A Room With A View" intermingled with Hugo's "Les Miserables". Rent it, you'll love it!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
