Wonderful color and good theatrics. The singing from Christine was beautiful. I enjoyed the story. I would have to say I was dissappointed with the ability to understand alot of the words that were sang. I really had to stay on top of what was going on through movements and sceanery to understand some parts of the movie. The songs could have been alot clearer. My daughter 14 loved the movie even though she could not hear alot that that was sang.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I really thought I would hate it. Set design, costumes, Cimematography, direction, and sound was all perfect. The songs will stay in your head for days. I've heard alot of people complain about the cast. I thought it was casted perfectly. It's such an amazing film!

I enjoyed the play but the movie surpassed my expectations! I usually don't like musicals but the performances, especially the Phantom, were so heartfelt.

This is a masterpiece of film making, very nicely done. Admittedly, Gerard Butler does not have the greatest voice in the world. He is however, a world class actor and acted is if he were a singer. Emmy Rossum is absolutely captivating, she has a very sweet voice. With a little time and culturing she may even become a diva in her own right. Despite being a musical, this is a very intense and emotional motion picture experience. By all means, see this film!

Although the cinematography was beautiful, and the phantom was great at showing his anguish, the corny, cheesy music made this movie that I had hoped would be good painful to watch. Tell me how such a young girl(Christine would have been 16) becomes so worldly as to the phantom's plight? Not realistic at all. I must have gotten a good night's sleep the previous night because I am very surprised I didn't fall asleep watching it. Go see the play, but don't rent the movie, not worth it.

Wow,you got to put on sub-titles and you'll be singing along ,too! I think the idea of this film, raise your hand to your eyes, means a inner quest that is your personal stages of hell ,like Dante, close your eyes and one can see the pictures of your own musical in script!
