Read More omg i love this movie so much, i don't like opera and i loved this movie and now i like opera. every scene is filled with so much detail. every moment is delightful and splendid. the music is soothing to every ear it comes near to. patrick wilson is so gorgeous and emmy rossum is so pretty, gerard butler is handsome even with his half horrifying face in the movie. you'll love every single second to this movie. its romantic, sad, and spectacular. so i really really recommend this movie. Read More i loved the play when i got to see it, about ten years ago now. i remember it clearly and the movie made me remember everything even more. i loved the movie. i enjoyed how they enlarged raoul's part and gave us some more background on the phantom. the music is wonderful as it always is from Andrew Lloyd Webber. i like the fact that it was not produced by any major movie company(it was released by warner bros., but they are not one of the producers), but by the creater of the musical/opera its self. i hope you all enjoy it as well. i also recommend the bonus disk which tells you all about how phantom came to be and alot of other things about it too.

After watching it on DVD, it really completed the ... Read More I watched the Broadway show twice and bought the soundtrack CD. I'm very attracted by the story and the music, so I couldn't wait to watch the movie. After watching it on DVD, it really completed the entire story. It captured the struggle of Christine Daae between the love of her childhood sweatheart and the seduction of Phantom as the Angel of Music. The sets, the costumes, everything was flawless. Just a comment on the one review commenting on the phantom's hair being brown and stringy. While he was getting ready for the production of Don Juan Triamphant they panned across his room and you could see two black wigs on the table in front of his mirror. Read More Although I haven't seen the broadway show, I have listened to the soundtrack, and I have to say that this is an excellent musical turned movie. As I watched it in the movie theater I just melted when the organs started booming in the beginning. Christine was very stiff and lacked the urgency and passion the role called for and Carlotta . . . oh Carlotta . . . she lacked the ability to be the bitch and her dialect was awful and hard to understand.
