If you haven't heard or seen Davis Gaines or Michael Crawford this might be acceptable, but the high notes weren't there. Christine was very good (especially considering her age and experience at filming time)....
And one more question: what happen to the Phantom's hair when he took off the Don Juan mask?
Suddenly it was stringy and brown (not black) and missing from the side of his head???? Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I will agree with one reviewer that I was disappointed when the phanton had his mask off his hair was suddenly whitish/yellow and stringy when all along it looked black- don't understand the logic with that. I was afraid that it would lose something on the "big screen" but I found it to be even better (rare) than in a theater. This is a movie that the whole family can watch and enjoy together for the beautiful music, scenery and suspense! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

He brings a fresh, new interpretation to the role. He does an excellent job of expressing the pain and suffering of the Phantom, even thru the mask. Emmy Rossum & Patrick Wilson sing divinely. Everything was top notch. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
