Read More I keep reading about the incest in the movie, when there wasn't any. There are scenes with Theo and Isabella naked together, but it's to show their childlike behavior, not to suggest there are sexual feelings between them. All in all, it's a good film. I enjoyed the performances from Eva Green and Louis Garrel, Michael Pitt...not so much. The story is about refusing to change. Even though the twins have reached physical maturity, they still cling to each other as young children do, and hide from the real world in their glorification of films and their games. The ending is tragic in the sense that the twins remain static, and Matthew, realizing this, leaves. There is a lot of nudity in the film, male and female, but it's not the focal point of the scenes; even during the sex scenes, there is still more going on than just intimacy if youâre paying attention. So if that's not what you like then don't watch the movie!!! Frankly I rated the movie low because the plot is so "old millennium". It's all old perspectives from a time that's come and gone. The sexual stuff doesn't live up to all the controversy either. Objectively though the movie is well acted and directed. It has good production values. But at the end, it seemed empty. Any commentary the film offered seemed to target the parents rather than the young people. I have trouble relating the behavior of the central characters to the political events in Paris, or even to the films they admire. Not a meaningful film, in my opinion. The only difference is this one actually does have a better storyline. After watching it for about 2 hrs....I just had to watch something that would bring me back to "normality".
