I was surprised by the amount of exposure displayed by the actors but once used to that part of the film, it was interesting to try to understand the relationship between the 3 main characters. I was thinking the storyline would be something like the twins were abused; which would explain why they were as close to one another as they were. But as it was put by the american friend...maybe they were afraid to grow up (for whatever reason) and were using one another to avoid the grown up reality outside the front door (so to speak). I don't know what the director wanted viewers to think, but I do know with the one scene where the parents walk in on the 3 sleeping children and they do nothing...there is some denial going on which brings in the question of what type of child rearing they did...to explain the characters (twins) behavior. Interesting film.

Its amazing how everyone mistakes this movie for being just about sex. In reality this movie is about movies. Its centered around cinema and its changing power. All the characters are movie buffs and any movie lover will enjoy this movie. Just because this movie features a lot of sex scenes does not make it about sex. This movie is about change and dreaming of a future.

So the purest prudes reviewing above did not like the raw sex, there was no raw sex, just soft acting. The story was believable, but the other reviewaers probably never even saw the sixties. If you listen to the commentary, you may appreciate the film more. Who cares about a little flesh, most Yanks are FAR too prudish. Go to the continent, see the real lifes of the French, Italians, Brits and the EU, then watch this again.

After watching this, I need new friends. We never do any of this stuff. Maybe some time in France will help. You know you have a clunker when a movie heavy with nudity and sex is tedious. Even the frequently naked Eva Green, who is gorgeous, couldn't save it. Luckily, I caught this on IFC and didn't waste valuable queue space on this turkey.

Given the sensitive incest theme, this is quite a heavy story to digest. As for sex and nudity, don't count on this film - it delivers little of each. After the first hour I found the characters were overly complex (for teens), and the story became tedious. In the end, I used the fast forward.
