Read More This was a beautiful love story, it was clean (no nudity, no profanity, no fornication) just a beautiful story of trials and Faith. I love the inticate story of God's love for us that is intertwined in this also. I'm not a Western Movie lover at all, but this was so good. I even let my little girls watch it, since there was a sub-plot of the young girl who lost her mom and grew to love and accept her new mom, and they sat through the whole movie. There were emotional points, funny situations, and also the message of Faith. If you are a Christian you'll appreciate this movie, if not you will hopefully be touched by it's message. Had no clue what it was about or what would happen.... I Loved it. I cried through the WHOLE thing. Oh my gosh I have nothing bad to say about this movie.... You have to see parts 2 and 3 Love's Enduring Promise and Love's Long Journey. Love them as well.... It would be heaven if Michael Landon Jr would make movies for all of Janet Oke's Novels. Read More This movie is one of my favorites. It has everything that I like in a movie: a compelling story, a historical context, spiritually uplifting morals while maintaining a down-to-earth feeling. Oh yeah, it's a heart-tugger, and a tear-jerker. I only wish that Hollywood would do away with the junk that it has embraced as entertainment, and do some real good in this world by offering up movies like this one. Michael Landon Jr. has a special talent for "a picture says a thousand words" directing. I hope to see more of his work in the future.
