A family movie with an triple underdog theme. The horse racing scenes are well done and worth watching. Overall good rental flick, if in the mood for a sappy story.

This was a great film. We only noticed that it was a long movie once the credits rolled ~ but it was very well done and worth the time. I'm not sure teenage viewers will be engrossed enough to sit through the slower portions but the lessons learned are worth "making" them watch this one.

Good feel-good little guy down and then beating the odds kind of thing. Good story and acting all around. Not breaking any new ground or the one of the greatest films, but well worth watching.

What I don’t understand is how many of the professional reviewers panned this movie. Personally I think a day of Electro Shock Therapy might be in order for them. With so many not for family pics out there, this becomes a winner just because it is family oriented. But this is a terrific film, and like “Cinderella Mam” is set in the late 20s early thirties. The movie delivers a strong message that our children need to learn. When it seems as if all is lost, there is always another chance, and that in every passionate pursuit, the pursuit is more important then the object pursued, Toby Maquire is truly outstanding as the all to tall jockey of Seabiscuit. While Chris Cooper is not his outstanding best, he does get the job done as Seabiscuit’s trainer .But it is Jeff Bridges that delivers the human message. This is defiantly a DVD keeper and belongs in an serious DVD collection
