The Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite Potter book and this director butchered it. The first two films made you care about the charactors, in this one they seemed one dimension. To me it is a long special effect connected by a little plot here and there. The best part of the movie is Harry riding Buckbeak, the worst is the rest of the movie.

All you people who think the movie was horrible obviously didn't understand it because you didn't read the books or watch the previous movies. Don't "diss" something because you don't understand it! And calling Harry "potty" is both disrespectful and unkind, not to mention imature! I'm not saying you aren't opinionated, I'm saying please give the movies and books a fair chance before you decide that you don't like it. If you read the books, you will understand the movie and I agree with other viewers that this new director did leave out a great deal of key points. But like I said, please, oh please don't talk rudely about a movie that others may enjoy. It isn't fair to others, especially fans of the series such as my self. All I'm asking is that you be kind to the actors and the new director no matter how bad of a job you may think they may have done.

I have to agree with another reviewer. This 3rd installment fell a little short of of the quality and writing of the first two. It lacked the enjoyment and charm of the first movies and the plot fell "short". You just won't have that feeling of "expectation" awaiting the next one, after having seen this one. This one seemed to have been made mainly to cash in on the popularity of the first two Harry Potter movies and lacked the style and forcus of them. "Chris Columbus opted to serve as producer and passed the baton to Y Tu Mamá También"...when he shouldn't have.
