I really enjoyed this movie. However, I believe it will be more enjoyable to persons who have not read the book. The entire look and feel of the movie was wonderful. If you don't get too disappointed by the omissions from the book version, you will be very happy with this adaptation. My son and I were rather disappointed with the fact that Harry's father's connection to the map was not explained. This could very easily have been done. We also felt that the change of Harry's petronis from a stag to a flash of light was a huge omission. This is a major connection to his father and should have been included in the movie. They also changed the point at which Harry receives the Firebolt, but it isn't a huge part of the story so it didn't bother me as much as the other changes. My husband, who has never read the book, thoroughly enjoyed the movie. To sum up, if you are looking for a strict adaptation of the book, this isn't it. It is, however, a delightful movie in its own right.
