The dynamics of the music personalities are well captured on this film. To see some of the best history of rock-- the trip to England and guys like Joe Strummer dying to see the Ramones. Oh for that Teenage Lobotomy. Meanwhile without Rock and Roll High School-- they may have never made it into a mainstream. The era of Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello-- Clash, Sex Pistols and so-on was certainly filled with extra-ordinary music!!

This is a great documentary of the pioneers of the punk movement. It's a shame the record companies and radio stations we're too scared to play them on the level they would have needed, to become huge in this country, like they we're in the rest of the world. The Clash and the Sex Pistols owe a lot to the Ramones. At typical example of how much of America was denied an amazing talent just because they weren't "commercial" enough. Fortunately, some of us were able to follow them from start to finish. It's a shame they didn't enjoy the ride as much as we did but such is life. RIP Joey and Dee Dee.

This film covers the Ramones better than any of the other Ramones films out there, but that does not mean you should not also be checking them out as well. This starts before the beginning of the band and works it's way up to just after the death of Dee Dee. It covers everything - the fight between Joey and Johnny, Dee Dee's rap band, Richie's dispute over t-shirt sales, and lots great interviews with other punk icons over just how great the Ramones are. It is funny and sometimes really sad, but always interesting as can be. In addition to this, you need to also check out Ramones RAW which contains Marky's home movies (a lot of them also appear here in EotC).
