Stan Lee's all-too-human superhero returns to the screen in this highly anticipated sequel to 2002's blockbuster hit Spider-Man. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is attempting to juggle college classes and his job as a photographer with the Daily Bugle while maintaining his secret life as costumed crime-fighter Spider-Man. Parker is also struggling to hold on to his relationship with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), who is beginning to enjoy success as a model and actress, and both Mary Jane and Peter have noticed he's beginning to buckle under the strain. Parker's friendship with Harry Osborn (James Franco) is also beginning to fray due to Peter's seeming alliance with Spider-Man, whom Harry blames for the death of his father, the nefarious Norman Osborn. As Parker weighs his responsibilities to himself and those around him against the obligations that come with his special powers, Spider-Man is faced with a new nemesis -- Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), a deranged scientist whose latest project has turned him into the near-invincible cyborg Doctor Octopus. Spider-Man 2 was directed by Sam Raimi, who helmed the first film, and much of the original cast has also reunited for this sequel, including Rosemary Harris, J.K. Simmons, and Bruce Campbell. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Just like the first film, Spiderman 2 is phenomenally outstanding and terrific. With amazing visual effects that are even more better, this Spiderman sequel will want you think this film is either in 3D or 4D! Just unbelivable!

One of (if not the) best comic book movie's ever made. It's perfect all the way around.

While this is a classic super-hero movie, it took a step in the wrong direction for the Spider-Man franchise. The movie becomes completely indulged in an annoying love triangle! Why Sam Raimi? Why?? The villain in this movie is awesome the effects are cool and the character study is as good as the previous. However, that dam love triangle is too much the base of the movie to be able to ignore. Overall, a classic, that is fun, and entertaining, but also annoying. 8.5/10

Spider-man once again proves to be the best superhero! Alfred Molina also portrayed the menacing Doc Ock very well!

I realize it's very difficult to produce a sequel to anything, but this time they pulled it off. Entertaining through most of the movie. Love affair a little too drawn out though.

This is one of the best super-hero movies of all time due to the universal themes, character development and xlnt acting by Dunst, Molina and Franco. Nice special effects, too. Only thing that kept this movie from being a 5 star was the campyness of some of the scenes, especially the editor.

I liked this sequel better the 1st time I watched it - I'll admit, then I was watching more for the great imagery and cgi special effects. And was then pleasantly relieved to find a good plot with a heart. But you can forget about the dialogue. Not good. It's the deal breaker for me - I won't own this one. "There was a disturbance" . he says to explain his habitual lateness for his civic duties, like delivering pizzas but getting fired for lateness. He was supposed to be playing a civilian. You know, alter-ego? Now he's talking like a cop? And that same, stupid line gets repeated, I think TWICE, (or at least it seemed that way). And not just that line; the dialogue in general just doesn't quite cut it. ( I'm fussy about dialogue, though, I'll admit.) Too bad, because with everything else going for it, this really could have been a total winner.

The action sequences were awesome. The rest of the movie wasn't. The plot line was slow paced and not very rivetting.
