Dirty Dancing (the original) was a film that worked hard to maintain its take me serious approach even though the film was targeted towards one audience and one audience alone. In the end it was a major success (grossing more money then any song and dance film even to this day). What Dirty Dancing Havana Nights was, was a cheap imitation of the first film just set in a different place. The film moves forward so fast while trying to use the exact same story that it feels forced. Like the director thought just because it worked once it'll work again even if its done horribly, as is done in this film. Another sad mark against it is the lead characters. Diego Luna (Open Range) is so femanine looking you can't pick up on that whole loverboy vibe. Sela Ward's character is never given a chance to shine. When the film was over I couldn't help but feel robbed of my time. Avoid this film like the plague.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Movie. This movie gave us a glimpse of pre-Castro Cuba and was able to convey a under tone of unrest, poverty and anger of Cubans. The music and the dancing were great. The two main character were great together. I will probably watch again or may even purchase it.

The name is all wrong for this movie, and should have been something else, at least a little more original. The acting was excellent. Diego Luna and his brother were absolutely hot. The "salsa" music and dancing were superb! It was not believable that during the Castro years in Cuba or any other Hispanic country during that time, that the women were permitted to dress or dance the way they were in the movie. But, that's Hollywood for you! If you enjoy "salsa" music & dancing, then watch this movie.

I enjoyed the film. I think that alot of people have approached this movie comparing it to the original Dirty Dancing. There will never be another "Dirty Dancing". Instead of comparing it to the original, review this one with an open mind and you will like it too. If this movie had been named something other than Dirty Dancing I am sure it would have gotten higher reviews. It is somewhat in the originals shadow. I enjoyed it and I am going to add it to my DVD collection.

It was hard to hot and bothered over someone who looks like a 12 yr old. And the female lead is such a bad actress. What a waste of my time watching it. The only good was the music.

Nobody could pay me to watch this movie again. It was dumb from the beginning to the end. The end especially sucked. A perfect waste of waiting 3 days.
