There are total three of them. Once you see this one, you must see the other two to get the whole story. This movie along with other two series are very famous in asia. All of the actors in the movies are big names and they all act very well. The story line is very complicated, its hard to understand without seeing all three of them. The recent movie The Departed is the US version of these movies. If you like Departed, you will find this movie just as great or even better. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

But find it. It turns this already great cop-gang epic into the HK Godfather.
Infernal Affairs 3 is debatable. But 2 is one of the few sequels that matches or even beats the original. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More One doesn't normally expect cop movies from Asia to be anything great. Despite a very bad English name (the Chinese isn't as bad), the movie is actually very good. I'm not sure if the Blockbuster version comes with English dubbing, so check first - but there are subtitles. Unlike most American action movies, this one is more of a mystery. An undercover cop has penetrated the Triads, and an undercover Triad has penetrated a high-level police bureau. The plot is based around their search to find sniff out the other mole first. There is a decent amount of realism - i.e., people actually think twice before shooting, unlike in Hollywood; I found this refreshing. It's not very high-tech, but the methods they use are fairly ingenious. The ending is an unexpected twist. Andy Lau and Tony Leung are, as usual, fantastic - and the rest of the casting is generally very good. Overall, I think worth 4 stars. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I watch most movies, including english movies, with the subtitles on, so I can more easily follow the story. This seemed like a decent movie, but the english dubbing and subtitles did not match. It is distracting when you aren't sure what the characters are actually supposedly saying, in this case the two were very different at times. The part of the movie I watched so closely followed The Departed that I didn't feel compelled to finish it. On a better day I may have watched the whole thing and enjoyed it. The war on drugs is constant. Money is power and the more you have the more you want. This film shows how destructive a lifestyle can be, when you become, what you are chasing. A powerful tone is set although the film doesn't portray it enough. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More There are some great films coming out of China & Honk Kong, with directors bringing an incredible eye and energy to the films they make. This was not one of those. Yes -- the premise is fresh. Gang boss, police boss: they both plant a mole in the other's organization. Time passes, drama builds as we wait to see who will be discovered and how the game plays out. Sadly, the drama was weak, the story fragmented and I never felt much for the characters. Just so-so, inspite of the cool premise. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
