Read More Tarantino does nothing more with this movie than prove he can get hollywoood financial backing, bring in a couple of buddies to work with, and make a movie that misses all marks. It's not campy enough to be funny and not intelligent enough to be enticing. If it was designed as either a parady or homage to Bruce Lee or other Fung Fu films, it misses on both. Read More ...you've made a boring movie that received critical acclaim. I've hated almost all of his movies, but each time a new one makes some noise, like an idiot, I rent it. I hated Pulp Fiction. Yes, I was the one guy. The only movie of his I could stand was Jackie Brown, and that's because Pam Grier is an absolute (gray) fox! Read More Tarantino gets all the credit for tying different genres and styles into a great Vol I of a great total movie. The charcters are all rich, the cinematography and film types reflect the characters the story is about. Amazing, people will study this movie for years. Violence? Oh yes, what else would you expect? Ultra Violence? Yes. But really what was great about the movie is how it gave each character their moment, there were no flat characters, everyone is rich and fully realized. He always writes strong women and The Bride is one of the best!!! I'm not sure if I enjoy Kill Bill I or II more....they're both great. I recommend these movies to any women who is tired of the guy always being the hero and to any man who doesn't mind stretching is imagination enough to conceive of a women having strength.
