Read More As soon as I finished watching this great film I watched it again with the commentary on, wanting to know as much about it as I could. Peter Dinklage gives a great performance as a man longing for solitude after enduring a lifetime of insensitivity about his height. Bobby Cannavale provides comic relief as a roadside vendor who neglects to see Fin's reluctance to socialize. Patricia Clarkson completes the unlikely threesome as a woman trying to overcome the overwhelming grief in her life. The three unknowingly support each other when they need it most. The dialogue is sometimes sparse, but always great. The actors do such a fine job that I was highly entertained even in the "quiet moments." Don't miss this one!! It's universally accepted that the majority of movie viewers think that E.T. and The Godfather are all time great movies. But you wouldn't compare them to eachother.
In it's own category: Indy films about friendships, Station Agent rates very highly. This was a good movie. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

So much is spoken to the viewer in the awkward silence between characters. Finbar ( a 4 ft. dwarf) expects to find a haven, safely away from the often cruel, and ignorant world that has made him untrusting of every human. Even of the kind and gentle that just see a new neighbor, and a chance to quench their own loneliness and boredom.....Finbar can't help but start up relationships with some of his new neighbors, often in very funny and tender ways.
This movie does start off at a snail's pace, but is worth sticking with it! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Not my kind of movie normally but I really enjoyed it. I see why people say the main character was a jerk - but I think that was a defense mechanism because of the way the rest of the world treated him up to that point. That's what makes it an uplifting movie. The humor is subtle but I laughed quite a bit - mostly at Joe. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I was expecting more from this movie being recommended by more than a few movie critics. Save your queue spot and rent "Girl Next Door". Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
