Read More...you prefer films to movies. Confusing and frustrating if not. Carrey finally delivers the performance of which every comic actor hopes he is capable. Winslet is about as perfectly cast as it's possible to be in her role. Both do an excellent job of not getting in the way of Gondry's impressive depiction of Kaufman's slightly disturbing story - which will appeal especially to anyone with the slightest paranoid bent.
BTW, if you find yourself wondering, as I did, "where have I seen the actor playing the doctor?" he was Fennyman, the moneylender in "Shakespeare in Love." Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

But I don't think storytelling is supposed to be so hard for the listener/viewer. The character development was choppy and didn't seem to serve the story well. The primary actors were very good in displaying the characters, but it wasn't enough. I would not recommend this movie unless someone wants to try something different. I am a Jim Carrey fan and I have enjoyed all his previous movies. I am not sure why he chose to do this one. Maybe it looked better on paper. I rented it based on the 3 1/2 star member rating.
