Made especially believable by the cast of actors who took on the lives of the people so well. One would have thought that Jesse and Tim would have been upstaged by greats Geoffrey and Judy but they blended as a family very well. I continue to be impressed by Jesse Spencer. It was a story to give hope to the many children who unfortunately have to overcome these obstacles in their lives. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

In fact, when it ended I thought, "Is that it?" Thinking I had yet to see the real second/third act. So in the end it's only about how a young boy copes with having a dysfunctional father who treats him and his other family members poorly because he himself had terrible upbringing. But the performances are good, the production values high (although you'll want to turn down the sound during the swimming meets). Better than TV. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read More The performances of brilliant actors Rush and Davis are standout as dysfunctional parents who are still loving and caring even though they have to make their sons have to suffer because of their own life's history. The sons survive in spite of their needs for normalcy within the structure of the unpredictability and behavior of both mother and father. It is pretty heavy, but it is rare to find such a great cast working together. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
