What a crappy movie, I was so diappointed. I liked the original so I thought watching the remake would be good, but it was horrible.

Stick with the original movie. This version was a poorly done remake that didn't invoke any of the same feelings the original did.

This made-for-TV teleplay is truly awful. There is simply no reason why this film needed to have been made. All of the characters from the old movie are present in the remake, except now the actresses are significantly less attractive and less talented. Oh..and the script is dumbed down, the original soundtrack is eliminated, and the whole movie is recorded on the same type of film/camera used to record porno flicks. If you were thinking of renting this bastardized rendition of the horror classic, think again, think smarter, and rent the movie Carrie ... the real Carrie (starring Sissy Spacek).

The actors did an ok job bringing the characters to life, but not quite as good a job as the original actors did. The special effects in this one were kind of neat. I appreciate the fact that it adhered to the novel more in some parts, but to be honest, the original adhered better in some other parts, too. The police station scenes were a little off, because they built up and then just fizzled out. One major distraction was the actual recording of the film onto the DVD. The fade-outs are there, and there is a very noticeable jump from one scene to the next. I know it was a made-for-TV movie, but with all the high tech gadgets available, the fade-outs could have been either deleted, or made to run into the next scene a lot more smoothly. It sort of took away just a bit of the suspense.

I like the original version of this movie more than I liked this movie. This movie was okay but I didn't like the way they changed it. Guess I am stuck in the past.

I first saw this movie on TV, but only saw the last half of it. I really liked what I saw, so I rented it. I just finished watching the dvd, and I loved it! I really think they did a great job on this. It was brought up to modern times, and there were a few new great scenes too! The end is totaly different as well...I won't give it away! There's a few cheesy fx here'n'there, but hey...it was a "made for TV" movie. I really loved this movie, and would rent it again. I'm giving this movie FOUR solid stars
