I cried each time when I saw this movie because it reminded me how my mother loved me and endured the hardship to raised ue. Respect and care for our elderlies should be a norm, I felt so sad to this grandmother who was left out in this process.

Wow. This is a keeper. A heartwarming life lesson that seeps into the heart and stays in the memory. A steady, patient love won the heart of this child.

The story is simple and beautiful. The grandmother never speaks she can't. The boy is a brat who discovers succombs to her love over time. The rural scenery is wonerful.

If you were ever mean or disrespectful to an elder as a child, this movie will make you feel like a guilty jerk. If your parents ever dumped you off at your grandparents' house for several days and you weren't happy about it, what ensued would be a fair depiction of what happens in this movie. And if you liked the Japanese movie "Nobody Knows", you might like this movie as they share the same sparseness of dialogue, but emotion evoking story. The acting, directing and cinematography were well done. While the audio defaults to Dolby Digital 5.1, the audio came across as stereo. There are no extras. Lightly recommended.

Months after seeing this film, I still remember it's gentle but heartwarming & amazing story with almost no words ever spoken at all, which to me is the power of the film. This is a gem of a movie and must see for anyone fascinated as I am in the Asian culture. It will touch your heart for months to come.
