Read MoreI rented this movie from my famous well known online rental service (not the most popular one, the second most popular one) for my spouse, and boy was I stunned, and stymied! I think I'm gonna start ordering more movies for my wife, because every time I do, I get a rare jewel! And such was the case again!
This movie is the classic "fish out of water" story, the one we've seen a millions times, but when you have a cute teen female, with enough Charisma to get OJ acquitted 10 times over, you know you have a winner. I had never heard of Amanda Bynes, (sorry, I'm not quite yet with the Nickelodeon crowd!) but I immediately wanted to know everything else, Amanda was in, after seeing this movie.
Check out the commentaries, for an interesting explanation of the behind the scenes, etc. Amanda's overview is a bit "kiddish" but that just makes you like her more. Very charming, and charismatic. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

One of my daughters and I even cried through the last 30 minutes. It is a great movie for tweens who are trying to find where they fit in, because it very subtly shows how important it is not to try to conform, but to be true to who you are. The only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is because it does have a scene which seems to portray tattooing as cool, a message I would rather not have sent to my very impressionable daughters. Oh how I loved watching Colin shake his little booty in those leather pants. Yes it is a far cry from Mr. Darcy but well worth the visit.

Even my 6 yo daughter said "Mom would it be ok to turn this off?". I almost felt like I had insulted her intelligence by suggesting this title.
