Ang Lee's HULK is a winner! The problem is that most people are stupid like the hulk is supposed to be, so when a good script is written, about a man who has held his anger in all his life and now explodes with rage and strength, people don't get it. My only qualm with the film is that it ran too long. People are running around yelling, "People mad! Hulk not smash enuff in movie! Too much talky! Uugh!" Meanwhile, Ang Lee made a wonderful film that delivers in action, but also delivers in making you think. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More Perhaps one of the more interesting Superhero movie failures, "Hulk" attempts to be cerebral. Although this is to an extent true to the Hulk comics, which have dealt with the psychology of the character at times (in addition to the action, of course), it doesn't really fit the feel of a Summer blockbuster. Read More While the film contains all the pieces of a great movie - Ang Lee directing and his eye for detail, performances by Bana and Connelly and Elliot, great score by Elfman - the movie tanks because it does not come together. Ang Lee, while his homage to comic books is interesting, spends more time of scenery than the movie. Bana plays it just a little over the top. All in all, this movie's not worth watching! I liked it more than I thought I would. The special effects were right on they looked real. I liked the part in San Francisco I saw it on the news without Hulk and before it was released. With the overreliance on special effects and little concentration on plot and character development this movie is more of a showcase on CGI rather than effective storytelling. The movie was just stupid and you really didnt give a crap about any of the characters. Forget the Hulk, I'm sticking to the real green superhero...The Green Lantern! Read More This movie represents everything I've always hated about comic books. At least with some of the other movies based on comic books (Batman, Spiderman, etc) they tried to make decent movies for everyone to enjoy, not just the die-hard comic book nerds. But this movie was just a sequence of one-dimensional cardboard-cutout characters, bad camera angles, picture-in-a-picture scenes (to look like a comic book I guess), cheesy dialogue, loosely strewn together plot, and cartoonish special effects.
