8 out of 10 people found this review helpful Delicate viewers beware -- the violence is graphic, many of the visuals can be a challenge (and can make you dizzy), and to say it isn't a 'feel good' movie is a major understatement. It is not a movie to be 'enjoyed' or maybe even one to like, but it is a movie that is compelling and thoughtful. I think it is more than worth renting.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Original and with many ironic scenes. I think its worth watching but its not for the weak at heart. If all you ever watch is the typical Hollywood stuff you will not be able to stomach this. Also its in reverse order so that helps figure out the movie. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The story is told in reverse, much like the movie momento. The jerky camera movements is very representative of what the characters are feeling. What makes this movie so unique is how through the brutality and pain you witness, that you don't come away watching this movie sick to the pit of your stomach. At least i didn't...good movie... Read More Being that I appreciate art in many forms, and despite the brutality in the rape scene, I thought the movie was really good. When it comes down to it, did the actors deliver, yes. The rape scene was so believable it made me gasp yet intrigued me. Monica Bellucci is could be dressed like Ronald McDonald and Iâd watch it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If you've seen almost any Martin Scorsece film, then you should be fine with the one violent scene in Irr. Also, the rape scene has no nudity (there is some at the end of the film), and the language is naturally quite coarse, but I did not find it offensive. I've seen a lot of movies.
The film is otherwise pretty good. It's not Memento, but the two are pretty different. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The graphic nature of the film will prevent many from getting past the first 10 minutes. Its appalling opening scenes are difficult to watch in every context.. The subject matter is disdainful and the film is raw but it paints a brutally honest representation making it unforgettable.
The movie is a reverse chronology that although initially confusing, provides the viewer a counter-retrospect that instead of building on, deconstructs the violent crescendo.
It is subtitled and the cinematography is choppy and slanted to add accent. There is nothing enjoyable about watching this film but it does offer a clear reminder that there is a very dark side to life that we ignore at our own peril.

To me, the reverse filming was distracting and irritating. Sub-titles made it hard to focus on what was happening. No character development or plot. Just graphic violence, confusion, jerkiness, long brutal rape scene. I normally like graphic violence, but this was too much for me. No message or moral to the story that I could find - couldn't even really make out a story. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More If I had known there was a 9 minute rape scene I would not have ever rented this sick demented movie. Ok sometimes there has to be a scene to get the audiences attention but this was horrific.Alot of the violence wasn't necessary. Also the night club scenes at the "rectum" would give gays a worst name that they already have.Due to ignorant people of the world. Granted there are a hand full of people straight and gay that like kinky sex but this was way over the top. I wonder how much research the writer did on the gay night club scene in France. If you want to have nightmares and feel sick to your stomach then this is a film for you. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
