This is a super old adventure, fantasy classic nicely remastered. If you've never seen it, it's well worth the time.

This is your movie of movies. It has all the ingredients for hopeless daydreamers. Did it happen? Could it happen? Only to those like me, who have seen the whole world and know what this life could be. If only we cared for each other. Watch this picture and let yourself fall into it without any distractions. There is something for everyone. Humor, adventure, love, danger, and especially, hope. If there ever were a picture I'd like to see on my last day on earth, this is it! I saw it when it first opened, and have seen it every couple of years since. It is a love affair; and it just might be that for you.

I love old movies but this one is a mess. Very long, lots of monologues that look and sound like they were shot by Ed Wood. Ronald Colman does a great job but there is only so much water he can carry when given this to work with. The restoration is also a mess, with scenes that add nothing just having audio with still photos since the video is missing. Also, the picture quality varies wildly from shot to shot because so many prints were cobbled together in a valiant attempt to re-create the full movie. If you're looking for old adventure films, try Bounty or some of the old Errol Flynn swashbucklers.
