This film gives a decent portrayl of Bob Crane's life. However, at times it seems forced and as if it lacks that extra piece of reality to properly execute the events. The performances are solid and the storyline decent but it is a bit slow. A decent film overall but fell short of my expectations.

I was a great fan of Hogan's Heroes in my earllier days but never followed up on the career of its lead Bob Crane. This film was quite a revelation about Crane's career and his sordid end...my god,what a downward plunge for this talented comedian who seemed the perfect character to play Hogan which was a temendous success. So sad..the film was quite good in that one of my favorite actors plays the lead..3 stars!

I loved Hogan's Heroes, so it was very interesting to see what kind of individual he was behind the scenes, and both Kinnear and Defoe portray their characters very well. I think it's easy for some to sit in judgement of one or both of them, but it's probably a more prevalent problem than most think......... Are you looking in the mirror gentlemen?

As a fan of Hogan's Heroes, I was very interested to see this movie about the star. There are many scenes here that depict some pretty bizarre behavior. While it is difficult to tastefully depict many of his sexual exploits, the directors do a good job at not overdoing gratuitous scenes. Greg Kinnear and Willem Dafoe do a great job at portraying the unusual relationship between Bob Crane and John Carpenter. In the end, I am not sure if I feel sorry for Crane or disgusted by him or both.
