I was laughing uncomfortably from the very beginning. There is so much to discuss, but so many spoilers I can't give away. I would suggest this movie to anyone who likes layered plots and movies that make you wonder and discuss. I actually bought this one, which is rare for me. Read More I have come to the conclusion that judging a movie based off of preconceptions from the book will nearly always lead to disappointment. The funny thing about books is that they don't always adapt well to film. Based on solely watching the film i believe this movie was better than most. The acting was interesting and a little awkward. Cages character the self loathing fat writer was interesting. the ending certainly was disappointing. It felt like little was ever accomplished. But the trip taken certainly was worth the watch. If you don't have an appreciation for originality or are too dumb to be able to catch all the themes in the movie, then don't bother because you're not going to like it. Personally, everyone who I know, including myself, that has see and understands this movie simply loved it.
