Read More Not too many answers offered here, only more questions. This flick is great because its characters take you through nearly the entire range of human emotion. You probably won't cry (b/c you never have enough time)but you'll definitely get a few chuckles. Chris Cooper is underrated. Nicolas Cage gets to be goofy twice over. I can't wait til that schizo serial killer cop flick("the 3" i believe????) spins out of the plot in this one. Ok, not likely but one can hope. Fascinating in the same way that one must stare at a train wreck. Excellent characterizations -- the very unusual people were also very believable. Too much explicit auto-eroticism for my taste, but, as I said, believable. But a week after seeing it, I could not recall what it was about without re-reading the synopsis. The screenwriting story was super boring to me, but the reporter story was quite interesting. There were also some times when I got a little confused. Maybe I was trying to overanalyze it. Read More There was a spoof on SNL a while back about all the great looking female actresses taking parts that made them look as ugly as possible.
