Good movie...Cage plays a different role that grabs an appeal to watch the movie.

Quirky and original and entertaining, in the same vein as Being John Malkovich.

Not too many answers offered here, only more questions. This flick is great because its characters take you through nearly the entire range of human emotion. You probably won't cry (b/c you never have enough time)but you'll definitely get a few chuckles. Chris Cooper is underrated. Nicolas Cage gets to be goofy twice over. I can't wait til that schizo serial killer cop flick("the 3" i believe????) spins out of the plot in this one. Ok, not likely but one can hope. Ron Livingston (Peter) from Office Space even shows up with a funny and memorable, albeit minor part.

I actually kinda liked the movie despite Nick Cage, who can't act his way out of a paper bag w/ a hole in it already.

Forgettable. Fascinating in the same way that one must stare at a train wreck. Excellent characterizations -- the very unusual people were also very believable. Too much explicit auto-eroticism for my taste, but, as I said, believable. But a week after seeing it, I could not recall what it was about without re-reading the synopsis.

There are two stories in this movie: One of Nicholas Cage's story of writing this screenplay, and the other is of this reporter going to investigate. The screenwriting story was super boring to me, but the reporter story was quite interesting. There were also some times when I got a little confused. Maybe I was trying to overanalyze it.

There was a spoof on SNL a while back about all the great looking female actresses taking parts that made them look as ugly as possible. This movie reminded me of that only in this case was Cage's character(s). That mental image put me off for the rest of the movie.

Nicolas Cage is almost always fantastic and this movie was no exception, but even a great performance (or two) by him was not enough to rescue this film. I was waiting for an interesting twist -- especially at the end, but none came. It was a long, meandering journey; and a dead end for me.

I am a Nicholas Cage fan and watch him whenever I can. My favorite of all times is Conair. This however was not what I expected. One review said this movie must be for the really smart people to understand. I too admit I did not understand one part of it. I am so sorry Nick but it broke my heart.
