If you enjoy dark comedies, then you need to rent. While Smoochy may look like Barney; it's definitely not for the kids. Sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy a good laugh. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

This is one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. Dont be misled by the cover. Robin Williams is not the star in this dark comedy about the kiddy TV industry. Its Edward Norton star that shines the brightest. Unlike his roles in American History X or Primal Fear that startled American audiences, Nortons role as Smoochy may startle you. But what a terrific job he does with this part. We havent seen very much of Norton lately, but I have read that his up coming movie is another Rounders type movie, and do in December of 2006 Norton will be starting in Loveless Brooklyn which is one of the best books I have ever read. Ed Norton's character is great, as a former dressed up sing along leader at a homeless clinic, that gets into a kids tv show.
