If there is Vinnie Jones I would watch it, he was the notorious soccer player back in the time- exactly like himself in the movie

Considering the cast, the Guy Ritchie connection and the proven model to follow, this movie is a bit of a wanker. I'm not sure how anyone could watch this and think it is not a remake of The Longest Yard. There were several scenes where the dialogue was EXACTLY from The Longest Yard script. Don't believe me?...rent the Burt Reynolds original and compare them yourself. I was really disappointed but the folks who made this film missed a great chance to take a good story, plug in a great contemporary cast and produce a quality remake. Instead, they made me nostalgic for the original and sorry I rented this one.

British remake of the Longest Yard which substitutes soccer for football is just as good as the original thanks to a strong cast led by Vinnie Jones, an ex-player himself. The action is bone-crunching during the climactic game and there are plenty of laughs along the way there. Watch for the hilarious play-by-play by the two Bobs during the match, simply classic. Though there are no extras on the disc, it is still worth renting if you liked the original or just want to see a cool sports movie.

I couldn't sit through it. It was the same exact story line as the Longest Yard, but with soccer. It was filmed well, and if I had never seen the longest yard, I probally would of enjoyed it. Although, I entertained myself by picking out and matching the british characters to the original.
