Read More If you are a Vin Diesel fan and you've never seen this movie, then go hide your face in the sand. I rented this movie twice and I still want to see it again. This movie was made when Diesel still had his raw look. The bar fighting scene is a classic, "Go ahead, make my day!", where it separates the bad boys from the TRUE tough guys. Maybe it's Pepper's sweet tough guy character or ... Read More There is something about this movie that I like. I have no idea what it is but I really like this movie. Maybe it's Pepper and Diesel's chemistry? Maybe it's Pepper's sweet tough guy character or Diesel's faithful tough guy character? It's not the plot necessarily cause it can be weak at times and when it switchs to the "stoners" it's just irritating. But as you watch Pepper sift through the mess he's in and you watch Diesel kick the stuffing out of people (out of faithfulness to his friend), something in you can't help but like them. And if you just like "cool fight scenes" this movie definelty has a couple "who's the big dog" moment's that are pretty memorable (ie Diesel calmly explaining why he's a tough guy before he gets into a "fight" in a bar). It's also some of Pepper and Diesel's best acting, just raw and understated. The movie is defintely worth a watch. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

These are some of the worst casting decisions ever made. Everyone's accent borders on comical especially Hopper and Malkovich-how/why they signed onto this is a mystery. Malkovich's delivery resembles a person with a speech impediment. Seth Green? Really? I'm supposed to believe he's connected because he has black hair? Vin Diesel? Am I really supposed to take him seriously? His acting is as good as Helen Keller would be at darts. I don't think the characters can be any less interesting or unique. The son of a boss has daddy issues? That's original. Furthermore, the dialogue is lame, the acting worse; the soundtrack is overly dramatic and the direction is full of itself. The story is weak and the "twist" at the end is nonexistent & predictable. Someone thinks he's been held back for years? That's also original! This movie defines cliche.
