I really liked the movie. I grew up watching this movie. I even went to Dogpatch USA when I was younger. I'm 28 years old now and I still like watching the movie. By Gary G.

Hilarious, Saw this movie when I was a teenager in the 1960s. Lil Abner was a higly popular comic strip that satirized the hipocracy of that era. .The singing and dancing is a bit annoying at times, but is expertly performed. Abner and Daisey Mae remind me of Ellie May and Jethro characters on The Beverly Hilbillies. In the 40 plus years since its release, this movie has become refreshingly politically incorrect. Watch for Lee Merriwether("Batman's Catwoman ") and Stella Stevens. Also a cameo appearance by Jerry Lewis Close this Review

The story has a sort of "Hee-Haw" hick flavor, but it is fun.
While not on the level of, say, My Fair Lady, it features some good laughs, songs and dances and even manages to get in a few digs at the idiocy of the Federal Government.

Mildly amusing. On the whole the music, the people, and the plot are somewhat uninspiring. The outfits on the women...nice. This film is probably better to those familiar with the comic strip. The brief glimpes of the original actress that played Catwoman on the 1960's Batman Tv show are not worth the 1 hour and 53 minutes needed to watch this. Close this Review
