This movie is proof that movies don't have to all the elements of the above mentioned to be good. With everything that has happened in the last few years the message this movie imparts is far more relevant.Jim Carrey shined among a superb cast of actors. He should be proud of this film. Read More An intertaining love story told in a "Frank Capra" style. With Jim Carey being such a successful comidian in other goof-ball roles, it's difficult to take him seriously in this film. (His best serious role was in the highly-recomended "internal sunshine of the spotless mind.") Read More This was a great movie, not only about what "Luke" did for the townspeople, but also about how people have taken the Constitution and laws that this country was found upon, and decided to interpret them in ways they were never meant to be interpreted. The story was indeed hoaky and very old-fashionedly square - as many that did not like this movie have said (and there are many). I guess this old fashioned girl just still enjoys a little hoak.
