It is so refreshing to see and hear the eloquence of its use. Hugh Jackson weilds these tools so well. He is gallant, suave, and a true gentleman. SO i settled in for a great film! But you know what...Meg Ryan even said this herself in the movie..."The movie doesn't work becasue the lead actress is unlikeable."
I guess the turmoil spilled over from her private life?? Hugh Jackaman and the rest of teh cast were really great. This film had such potential except for her. Read More I am a huge fan of Meg Ryan and I truly liked her in this film. At first you wonder why she is like she is and then as you watch closer, she reveals what she keeps inside of her. Hugh Jackman is excellent. A wonderful romantic film to watch as you sit back on a quiet evening and enjoy. I liked how the two centuries intertwine into each other. Read More I do not care much for romantic comedies but I like Meg Ryan a lot, so thought of renting this movie.I do agree with the other review that everything about this movie is great except Meg Ryan. She is so repetitive, she acted exactly the same way in" You got mail"," Hanging up" and a bunch of other movies.I don't know whether it is the directors who keep giving her the same kind of roles but she has more potential than playing the same kind of roles over and over again.All the other actors were fantastic ,especially Jackman was very charming and believeable as Leopold.
