Read MoreAlthough some may be put off by just HOW SHALLOW this guy is, by some tacky remarks about women with thick ankles, and some occasionally crude language -- I found the film to be delightful, refreshing, funny and very meaningful. There's even a cameo appearance by the great motivator Tony Robbins.
It DOES explore our social prejudices against the overweight. You have to accept that this is a comedy, and let the science fiction aspect stretch your imagination a bit -- but the movie is extremely well done.

I was surprised at this one. It's actually pretty good. Not as predictable as I would have thought. There were a few scenes it could do without, but, overall a good movie. I've watched it a few times. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

it makes you laugh and realize how shallow we all are--if only we could see other people for their goodness inside rather than their attractiveness on the outside...they should have had a real heavy girl play the main character's part to be consistent with the other women in the movie--but hey...laugh and enjoy yourself! It came through in teaching a very valuable lesson about inward beauty, but it also was somewhat of a disappointment. The movie had the potential of being a good family movie, but as often happens, there were uneccessary scenes and situations that detracted from the wholesome message.
