Lawrence of Arabia is an excellent movie. It is stunning in every aspect of movie making. However, it is important to remember that it is not completely factual. Even a cursory reading of the main character's biography will reveal that the story has been changed in many ways in order to suit the medium. So enjoy the movie, but remember that it is just a movie.

Great historical perspective as to why they still don't really trust us in the Middle East. I suggest probably trying to read a book about the real story behind the movie to better understand the dark twist that happens towards the end of the movie. I plan to do so. Definitely ranks as a must-see classic, but "Die Hard and Terminator" fans should be forewarned if they're looking for an "action" movie. It requires patience (& appreciation for British actors) for the story line to develop.

I'll admit, this is tough to watch on TV. It is totally tailored for the big screen. It is an epic that was designed to be one. One of the greatest achievments in cinema, it is a blueprint for film students all over the world for how to use a big and wide screen and how to tell a story. Probably the best bio-epic ever done. If you ever get the chance to see it in a theater, do so. They truly do not make them like that anymore (intermission included).
