However, it is important to remember that it is not completely factual. Even a cursory reading of the main character's biography will reveal that the story has been changed in many ways in order to suit the medium. If I don't give this movie the full sweep of stars I blame myself. In the era of instant gratification subtleties are hard to pick up on and this movie requires full attention and thinking. It's an exellent epic drama and plenty of adventure and action too. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I suggest probably trying to read a book about the real story behind the movie to better understand the dark twist that happens towards the end of the movie. I plan to do so. Definitely ranks as a must-see classic, but "Die Hard and Terminator" fans should be forewarned if they're looking for an "action" movie. One of the greatest achievments in cinema, it is a blueprint for film students all over the world for how to use a big and wide screen and how to tell a story. Probably the best bio-epic ever done.
