In a post-epidemic nightmare world, scientist Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is the only man immune to the plague which has transformed the entire population of the Earth into vampire-like creatures. He becomes the monster slayer that vampire-society fears. Curing one of them, Ruth (Franca Bettoja), with a transfusion of his blood gives him hope for the future. It is a short future, however, since the other vampires quickly find and kill him. If you enjoyed the original story I Am Legend by Richard Matheson this is your movie! Matheson's story is a masterpiece of suspense and intellectual horror. The Charlton Heston movie version is terrible and barely resembles the story. This movie is great though. It is old! But, if you enjoy old movies and/or Vincent Price, this one is top notch!

YOU THOUGHT UR EVERYDAY LIFE WAS TOUGH? WATCH THIS. Lately i've been watching alot of zombie flicks. I started with dawn of dead, 28days later, but then i started digging deeper. And this is top 3. So, It's old, black and white. but this is truely an excellent zombie movie. where all zombie movies rooted from. really kept me into it. go for the double pack with that other old school movie,its alright.

Classic film. Sticks very close to the book by Richard Matheson. However, I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much as I did if I had not have read the book prior. The monsters (vampires) resemble the monsters from those days. - They act like a bunch of drunks lost in a neighborhood.

This is a great movie. People should watch this, Omega Man, and I am Legend, as they are all based off of the same book. Last Man on Earth is very funny, and best seen with commentary.

If you can handle black & white films, then check this one out. They call 'em vampires but they're more like zombies. Has a Twilight Zone feel to it.-Stone

This movie from 1964 just doesnt hold up 40-some years later. The second one with Charlton Heston was actually much better. The acting by zombies (and mostly by V Price) was just awful. I'm hoping the Will Smith version is better that either of these two.

Review 194: more accurate to the book than "The Omega Man" and parts of "I Am Legend," this Vincent Price horror movie doesn't rely on the makeup effects gags, but rather focuses on a man's survival in a ruined world.

Just as scary and much more thoughtful than the Will Smith version. Both have their merits, but no one adds to the creepy factor better than Vincent Price, even when he plays the good guy.
