The Charlton Heston movie version is terrible and barely resembles the story. This movie is great though. It is old! But, if you enjoy old movies and/or Vincent Price, this one is top notch! So, It's old, black and white. but this is truely an excellent zombie movie. where all zombie movies rooted from. really kept me into it. go for the double pack with that other old school movie,its alright. This is a great movie. People should watch this, Omega Man, and I am Legend, as they are all based off of the same book. Last Man on Earth is very funny, and best seen with commentary. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

If you can handle black & white films, then check this one out. They call 'em vampires but they're more like zombies. Has a Twilight Zone feel to it.-Stone WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreIn my opinion this Vincent Price variation on the "I Am Legend" story by Richard Matheson is a far superior film that holds more true to the author's original tale than the recent Will Smith version.
The set design and special effects are more akin to a stageplay (those doors and windows aren't going to keep out a cat, let alone virus-infected zombie/vampires!) than a summer blockbuster -- but it was filmed in 1964 and can easily accepted by simple virtue of its age. This early version allows the story and characters to take center stage vs. being overwhelmed by over-produced CGI.
