I didn't know about his little piece of English history, but after watching the film, I checked out the story through Wikipedia and sure enough, it was presented correctly. The one liberty that the filmmakers took was to pick a good looking young stud as Lady Jane's husband. Wikipedia indicated that he was more of a dumpy dullard.

Read More I watched this film and "The Other Boleyn Girl" on the same day and I have to say, I prefered "Lady Jane". Both films deal with similar themes: young people from noble families being used as pawns by their families in order to obtain political and financial gain; Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey also became ill-fated Queens of England. I liked "Lady Jane" because it has a straightforward storyline as well as interesting characters, good perfomances and a tragic romance to keep you involved. If you like historical dramas, give this movie a try. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

If you want the facts, then this movie is not accurate. Jane and Guilford did get married, but they had no real love for each other. They did not co-habitate until she became Queen, then slept in seperate rooms most of the time. Up until the marriage, this is basically accurate. I still enjoyed it because it put a much happier ending instead of the real facts! I think I have watched it three or four times over the last 20 years since it came out.
