Since I love horses, I really enjoyed watching all the horses, and the scenery was nice. The interactions between the 3 main characters were good, but overall I felt the film was too slow. It dragged when it could have been trotting right along. To sum it up, I've seen worse, but I've certainly seen better and I would not watch it again. Once is enough, no matter how much beautiful horseflesh is in it! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Have no clue how people found the film slow .. unless they're looking for an action film ? Don't think fast paced film when I think of real cowboys or Mexico ! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The movie follows the book quite faithfully. It's somewhat abbreviated but to follow the story entirely would take 3 hours or more. The characters, plot, and scenery were all good. The one most notable difference is that most of the original story takes place during the winter and there was much snow and bad weather, which seems to be a McCarthy trademark. Other than one rainstorm, the entire movie took place in pretty much pristine weather. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Unfortunately this is a case of comparing an excellent book to a bad movie. The book is huge and descriptive and beautiful and the movie was poorly executed and unable to do justice to the story. Matt Damon and Penelope Cruz were awful. Only Henry Thomas begins to live up to the expectations of the cowboy image of the book. I had looked forward to seeing this movie after reading the book twice and was so disappointed. I have seen movies that don't live up to their books but still enjoyed the movie. This movie doesn't live up to the book and is just awful on its own. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
